our story

luckydog day & night care was created in 2004 by Mandie Stuhan. It is named after her dog Lucky, a now 11 year old Vizsla. Mandie's vision is to offer an unmatched level of professional care for each and every guest... and that vision is realized everyday at luckydog.

"I created this business and built it based on many of my own personal values. At luckydog we treat clients' dogs how I would want my own dogs to be treated: with individualized care, professionalism, patience and respect." Mandie Stuhan

Sandy, New Client Coordinator/Front Desk Extraordinaire

Sandy joined the luckydog pack in February 2007. Her first career was spent working with humans, and now her second is with our luckydogs! She loves being greeted each morning with a wag of the tail, and maybe a lick on the cheek. The dogs are always happy and ready to have a great time playing - and the dog owners are also special! You can tell how much they love their pet and make them a part of their family. Luckydog has been a wonderful experience for Sandy. She has learned so much about how to teach dogs good behavior, but at the same time have fun.

Katie, Dog Handler

Katie is an outstanding dog handler. She has a great energy about her and absolutely loves her job, and, as a result, the dogs love her. Katie is music major at Lane Community College (and a straight A student) plays the guitar, and is songwriter and all around music enthusiast. She paints, reads, and is learning to play the piano and clarinet. What Katie loves most about her job is getting to know the dogs and cuddling with them.

Lindsey
Lindsey, Dog Handler

We were so happy to find Lindsey and welcome her to our luckydog family. Lindsey comes to luckydog with lots of doggie experience (having worked for a local competitor). Lindsey was quick to pick-up the luckydog techniques and fits right in. Her favorite part of her job is getting to know each and every dog, their personality and then learning to successfully communicate with them. In her free time she adores her dachshund Penny, taking her on hikes and to the dog park. She also enjoys reading, scrap booking and collecting movies.
