Holiday Blog Fall 2019

Hello Pet Parents,

The holiday season is almost upon us!

It’s that time of year again, whether you love it or hate it, it’s happening. While I’m not one to count down the days until it’s socially acceptable to play holiday music, I am a fan of the holiday spirit. So break out the bubbly and let the festivities begin!

In this issue we recap some cool things that happened over the past few months and some exciting things to come in the near future. This includes extended weekend p/u-d/o hours, a raffle for a stocking worth over $200, extended grooming days/hours, and more!

We are staffed and ready to take care of your fur babies with the continued high level of care that they receive throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you all!

As always, if you ever have concerns or suggestions please feel free to reach out. My ears are always open.

Thank you for your continued support. We are nothing without our clients and are glad you are part of our family.

Lots of love,

Dee Dee Fasquel

Owner – Luckydog

Raffle – Stocking Giveaway (~$200 value)

Purchase required to earn raffle tickets:

  • Large bag of Open Farm kibble – 3 raffle tickets
  • Swag (anything in the cabinet) and freeze dried treats (big bag)- 2 raffle tickets
  • West Paw, Open Farm Stew, and small bag dog treats on the wall – 1 raffle ticket

The winner will be drawn on Sunday December 22nd at 7pm!

I took my time and did a lot of research on the products that I wanted to carry at Luckydog. With our limited space I wanted to carry just a few items that would add convenience for our clients and offer the same high quality synonymous with our name. After much deliberation I feel really good with my choices. Please take some time to look into Open Farm food (https://openfarmpet.com) as well as West Paw toys (http://westpaw.com). They both are amazing companies that I am proud to represent at Luckydog.

GROOMING – extended days and hours through the end of the year!

Over the last couple of months Sarah has been rolling out some masterpieces on your fur babies! Not surprising with her formal education and 5+ years of experience. She has committed to working extra days and hours though the holiday season so that all of your grooming needs can be met. With that said, please book out as far as possible as her schedule is filling up!

THE HAPPENINGS!

Register Guard- Reader’s Choice winner Best Boarding 2019

I can’t say enough about my awesome staff. We are a tight bunch and I am lucky to have them. If you didn’t catch our feature article in the Register Guard late October please take a look below. I am very proud of them, what we have accomplished, and what is coming in 2020.

Vino & Vango Paint Party

As expected, we had a blast at the first Paint Your Dog Party! If you love drinking wine and are interested in what it’s like to drink wine, eat fancy cheese, paint your dog, and meet some fellow Luckydog peeps – come join us at the next event! To be scheduled in early 2020! Once we post the dates sign up quickly as the last one sold out in almost 24 hours!!!

Competitive Staff Bowling party

Hello, Luckydog fam! It’s been a little while since our last blog and the crew has been up to some really fun stuff, including a fabulous staff bowling party. We were lucky enough to have an entire bowling alley just for us dog lovers! All of our team members showed up expecting hilarious shenanigans and some friendly competition and we were not disappointed. Teams of 2 were randomly selected from a hat. Each pair bowled at their own pace for 2 hours, completing as many frames as desired (we had to allow some flexibility for impromptu dance offs and general goofiness). At the end of the second hour, all of the teams submitted their highest cumulative game score to determine who would go down in history as the first ever Luckydog Competitive Bowling Champions! After a nail-biting few minutes, our champions were revealed… the fantastic duo of Stacey and Savannah! It was an awesome experience and such a great send off for Savvy, our amazing, long-term groomer. She and Stacey’s victory is now forever immortalized by the super rad trophy in the Luckydog lobby. Please enjoy a photo of true pageantry and humility below:

Despite not coming out on top myself, I had an incredibly fun and memorable time. A night out with the crew was an excellent reminder of how close-knit our team is. In building such positive, lasting bonds with the dogs in our care, we have ultimately built lasting bonds with each other. It’s great to feel like part of a family in the work environment and even greater to have a boss who cares enough to show us that our dedication is valuable and appreciated. Thanks again, Dee Dee, and here’s to welcoming an awesome annual tradition!

Wag on,

Operations Manager

Staff Spotlight: Stacey Lambert

Stacey, our amazing Boarding Manager, was born and raised in Connecticut. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and worked with local high school sports teams and athletes. Shortly after graduating, Stacey made the decision to become a dog mom and adopted 2 rescue pups, Casey and Sawyer. She continued spreading joy by fostering for a local rescue and fell in love with all things dog, specifically the training she’d do to help them prepare for their forever homes. In 2018, Stacey moved across the country to our beloved Oregon in pursuit of a job doing what she loved after a change of heart about sports medicine. She loves to spend time outdoors hiking with her dogs and enjoys crushing it at Crossfit! She has found her dream job and true passion in life here with the Luckydog family. She is an invaluable part of the team and brightens everyone’s days with her organizational skills and positive attitude. She has recently been accepted into the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior and is going through the program with her trusty sidekick, Sawyer. Stacey will graduate in April 2020 and will be a professional dog trainer credentialed from one of the most respected organizations in the field. We are all very proud and are cheering you on all the way!

  1. Great blog! Having been a Lucky Dog supporter for over 11 years, we (Chester & I) are very pleased to be part of the LD family! Chester is a happy “camper”!

  2. I am so very happy my daughter Stacey has found her perfect job! It is great knowing she is working beside such amazing people as having her on the other side of the country is hard on us as her parents. We miss her and of course Sawyer and Casey as well. Seeing the smile on her face and the happy wagging tails of the dynamic duo makes us feel better knowing all is well in their world. Thank you for giving her the opportunity to be part of Lucky Dog!

    1. Hi Jackie – thanks for raising such an amazing human being! Stacey has an excellent work ethic, her compassion is off the charts, and we are the lucky ones to have her on our team.
      Happy Holidays!
