Luckydog policies

Luckydog is committed to providing the best dog daycare and boarding experience in the Eugene and Springfield area. This means we require that all of our clients comply with the following policies to ensure the health and safety of your pet and of our other guests.

Health and Initial Requirements:                                                                          • Completion of online customer profile
• No open wounds or sutures
• Free of any contagious illness
• Flea and tick control (such as Trifexis)
Negative fecal parasite screening, which tests for Giardia ova and parasites (within 4 weeks for new dogs and annually for existing customers)
Spayed/neutered by the age of 6 months (this has to do with pack dynamics and reproduction concerns)
Proof of vaccination (DHLPP, Rabies, Bordetella, Canine Influenza)

Orientation
All of our dogs and their owners are required to participate in an initial orientation. During this meet and greet we will give you and your dog a tour of the facility and we will discuss all of the services we offer and find out how we can best meet your needs. This appt usually takes about 20 min to complete. Please bring your pup with you.

New Dog Half Day
Once the orientation is complete and all vaccination/fecal requirements have been met, your dog can be introduced into our pack. This first visit is a short, early morning, 2.5 hour play date where we can gain insight into how your pup may integrate with our pack and interact with staff.

Daycare
All dogs must be at least 4 months of age. Puppies and recently adopted dogs must be in the home for 4 weeks prior to coming to daycare or lodging. A new dog half day must be completed before a full day of daycare can be scheduled. If your dog has not been to Luckydog in over 6 months they must be reintroduced to the pack with a new dog half day.

Lodging
In an attempt to offer the best lodging experience for your dog(s), we recommend that they attend daycare a minimum of 2 days per month. New dogs must successfully complete a new dog half day, 1 full daycare day, and one trial lodging night before they can book an extended lodging stay (more than one night). This process helps to ensure a more comfortable stay for your dog as well as the rest of the dogs in our care.

Health
Dog must be current in the following vaccinations: distemper/parvo, rabies (by six months of age), bordetella, and canine influenza. All dogs must be in good health. Owners will need to verify that their dog(s) are in good health and have not been ill in the last 14 days. On admission all dogs must be free from any condition that could potentially jeopardize the health and safety of other dogs or themselves. This includes open wounds and/or sutures. Dogs that have been ill with a communicable condition in the last 14 days will require veterinarian certification of health in order to be admitted or readmitted. Once admitted, please alert staff to any change in your dog’s health that requires medication, even if Luckydog is not to be required to administer it. If your dog is not feeling well, i.e. vomiting or diarrhea, please do not bring him/her to day or night care.

Behavior
Owners will need to verify that their dog(s) have not harmed or shown aggression or threatening behavior towards any person or other dog(s). Dogs that exhibit any aggressive behavior or show signs of excessive stress will be removed from the open play environment and staff will discuss options or alternatives to daycare.
