Guidelines & Policies
Luckydog is committed to providing the best dog daycare and boarding experience in the Eugene and Springfield area. This means we require that all of our clients comply with the following policies to help ensure the health and safety of your pet and of our other guests.
Vaccine and Initial Requirements:
- Completion of online customer profile & orientation
- Current with required vaccines/fecal (detailed below)
- All dogs over the age of 6 months must be spayed or neutered. If daycare begins at 4 months, the procedure must be completed by 6 months of age. This policy addresses pack dynamics and reproduction concerns. Please note that a vasectomy and/or an ovarian sparing spay will not be accepted due to their inability to alter hormone-driven behaviors.
- No open wounds or sutures
- Free of any contagious illness
- Flea and tick control (such as Trifexis)
Vaccine Requirements (must be administered by a veterinarian):
- Bordetella (Canine Cough)
- Required annually
- Rabies
- Initial vaccine by 6 months of age
- Booster after 1 year
- Then every 3 years thereafter
- DAPP (Distemper/Parvo)
- Initial puppy series
- Booster after 1 year
- Then every 3 years thereafter
- A negative fecal Ova & Parasite test
- New clients must have a recent test (within 4 weeks)
- Required annually

Health
All dogs must be in good health. Owners will need to verify that their dog(s) are in good health and have not been ill in the last 14 days.
On admission, all dogs must be free from any condition that could potentially jeopardize the health and safety of other dogs or themselves. This includes open wounds and/or sutures. Dogs that have been ill with a communicable condition (i.e. canine cough) cannot visit our facility or participate in any services until they have been completely symptom free for a minimum of 14 days.
Once admitted, please alert staff to any change in your dog’s health that requires medication, even if Luckydog is not required to administer it. If your dog is not feeling well, i.e. vomiting or diarrhea, please do not bring him/her to Luckydog.
Behavior
Owners will need to verify that their dog(s) have not harmed or shown aggression or threatening behavior towards any person or other dog(s). Dogs that exhibit any aggressive behavior or show signs of excessive stress will be removed from the open play environment and staff will discuss options or alternatives to daycare.
Orientation
To ensure a seamless experience for both you and your furry companion, all clients, with the exception of those exclusively seeking training or grooming services, must attend an initial Orientation. This introductory session includes a comprehensive tour of our facilities tailored specifically for you and your dog, allowing us to explore together the full range of services we provide and identify how we can best cater to your needs. The Orientation is designed to last approximately 20 minutes. We kindly request that you bring your dog along for this visit. Cancellation fees apply.
Introduction to Playgroup
Once the orientation is complete and all vaccination/fecal requirements have been met, your dog can be introduced into our pack. This first visit is a short, early morning, 2.5-hour playdate where we can gain insight into how your pup may integrate with our pack and interact with staff. We call it the New Dog Half Day and these appointments currently take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays and are overseen by our daycare manager.
Daycare
All dogs must be at least 4 months of age. Puppies and recently adopted dogs must be in the home for 4 weeks prior to coming to daycare or lodging. A new dog half-day must be completed before a full day of daycare can be scheduled.

These services are thoughtfully designed to complement daycare, providing variety to their dog's experience through individualized attention and care. Our professional team is committed to recommending the best add-on services tailored to your dog's unique needs and personality after we have the opportunity to get to know them, helping to ensure a fulfilling and enriching experience at Luckydog. If your dog is not thriving with daycare alone, an additional service may be required.
If your dog has not visited Luckydog in over 6 months, a reintroduction to the pack is necessary through a half-day of daycare. This helps to ensure a smooth reintegration for your dog and maintains the harmony of our daycare environment. Additionally, we strongly recommend considering one of our add-on services to further enrich their experience at Luckydog. These services are designed to provide personalized attention and care, enhancing your dog's well-being and happiness during their stay with us. Cancellation fees apply.
Lodging
In an attempt to offer the best lodging experience for your dog(s), we require that they attend daycare a minimum of 2 days per month. New dogs must successfully complete a new dog half-day, one full daycare day, and one trial lodging night before they can book an extended lodging stay (more than one night). Morning check-in is required for all lodging dogs. An early arrival helps to ensure a full day of play and a better night sleep, setting the stage for a more comfortable stay for your dog. A 50% deposit is required and cancellation fees apply.

Puppy Preschool
Puppy Preschool enrolls puppies aged 8-12 weeks of age. It is a 6-week program that is run by a Karen Pryor-certified positive reinforcement trainer. Payment is due in full at the time of enrollment. Cancellation fees apply.
Enrichment Club
Enrichment provides one on one interactions and mentally stimulating activities that have elevated the experience for the dogs in our care. It has helped them to acclimate to our facility, gain confidence, and bond with their dog care specialists. Subscriptions are available that bill on the first of every month and set to auto-renew unless canceled before the beginning of the next month. Single add-ons are also available. Adventure Club
Adventure Club is a small pack, off-leash, excursion in the beautiful Oregon wilderness. There is a waiting period and recall assessment before your dog can be considered for this service. If eligible, there is an additional liability waiver that must be signed before the first outing. Cancellation fees apply.
Lucky Limo (Transportation Service)
Monday – Friday
Lucky Limo is happy to transport your dog to and from our facility. Reservations are required and standing appointments are preferred.
Lucky Spa
Bathing and Grooming prices are based on the size of the pup and the condition of the coat. Lucky Spa requires the following vaccinations: Bordetella, Rabies & Distemper/Parvo. A 50% deposit is required and cancellation fees apply.
Cancellation Policy Overview
At Luckydog, we understand that plans can change. To accommodate this, we've established the following cancellation policies to ensure fairness and efficiency for all pet parents. Please review these policies carefully to avoid any unnecessary charges.
Daycare and Add-On Services
Cancellation Notice: At least 24 hours in advance.
Fee: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service will incur full charges for the service and any add-ons.
Adventure Club
Cancellation Notice: At least 24 hours in advance.
Fee: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled adventure will incur the full service charge.
Lodging
Non-Peak Periods
Cancellation Notice: At least 48 hours in advance.
Fee: Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled stay will result in the forfeiture of the deposit.
Peak Periods
Cancellation Notice: At least 5 days in advance.
Fee: Cancellations made less than 5 days before the scheduled stay will result in the forfeiture of the deposit.
Lucky Spa
Cancellation Notice: At least 48 hours in advance.
Fee: Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment will result in the forfeiture of the deposit.
Peak Periods
To better plan your pet's stay with us, please note our peak periods, which require extended cancellation notice:
Spring Break: Sunday to Sunday, as defined by the Oregon School District.
Thanksgiving: Sunday to Sunday during the week of Thanksgiving.
December Holidays: The last two weeks of December through the first week of January.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are available for Daycare, Enrichment Club, and Adventure Club. Your subscription will be active for 30 days from the date of sign-up and will auto-renew every 30 days. Subscriptions are non-refundable, but you can cancel or adjust your subscription at any time for the following month by contacting us at bark@luckydogcare.com.
Payment, Deposits, & Refunds
Payment is due in full at the time of checkout. Deposits will be applied to the balance due or refunded if the cancellation is within the specified time frames. Luckydog does not offer refunds.
