Dive Into Fun: Sign Up for The New Pool Party Add-On!
We are excited to announce that our new pool party program will soon be in full swing, with an estimated start date of August 5th! This fantastic new addition provides a unique and enriching experience for your furry friends, tailored to each dog's skill level and interests. Our 20-minute swim sessions, priced at $30 per dog, include one-on-one pool time with our team leaders and management, all overseen by our certified positive reinforcement trainer, Stacey. Each dog receives individual attention, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience with the help of appropriately sized life jackets.
Due to the high demand for this service, please be patient as we work to ensure that all dogs have positive and enriching introductions to the pool. Additionally, all pet parents interested in this service must sign the updated Swim Session liability waiver prior to pool use. The liability waiver is located in our client portal under the "My Account" drop-down menu, then "Agreements."
Ready to make a splash? Sign up your pup here and we will be in touch! For any additional questions, please email us at bark@luckydogcare.com. We can't wait to see the joy this new offering brings to the dogs in our care!
Stacey Lambert - 6 Years: A Journey of Learning and Living My Passion
Reflecting on the past six years at Luckydog, I'm incredibly proud of the transformative changes we've implemented. When I first walked into this lobby, I never imagined this would become my career and passion.
A year into my role as a dog handler, I realized I wanted to deepen my knowledge and skills in working with dogs. After researching, I found that the Karen Pryor Academy was the best fit for my aspiration to become a positive reinforcement dog trainer. I'm grateful this journey led to the creation of the KPA scholarship here at Luckydog, providing others with the same opportunity to excel.
Since completing the program, I've also become Fear Free certified and have pursued numerous webinars and courses on dog behavior. This ongoing education enables me to better serve our amazing clients and their furry friends.
What I’m most proud of is fostering an environment where dogs can play, learn, socialize, and explore safely. There's nothing more rewarding than helping pet parents live happily and harmoniously with their dogs and understanding their needs on a deeper level.
Thank you for your support over the last six years. I look forward to what the next six years will bring!
Dog of the Month: Hershey A.
We are thrilled to announce that Hershey A., the adorable Miniature Dachshund, is our Dog of the Month for August 2024! Hershey is a proud graduate of our Puppy Preschool training program, and he has certainly made his mark here at Luckydog. This little dynamo will be turning 2 on August 2nd, and we can't wait to celebrate with him!
Hershey's big personality and loving nature make him everyone's best friend, no matter their size. He has a special bond with his favorite friends, River K., Booker Z., and Rico L. Last September, our team recognized his vibrant spirit by awarding him the "life of the pawty" superlative, and he certainly continues to live up to his title!
Not only is Hershey a social butterfly, but he's also a talented one! Enrolled in our Enrichment Club, he has impressively learned how to skateboard! Hershey truly embodies the cuddly, silly, and snack-loving soul of Luckydog, and we're so lucky to have him in our pack. Congratulations little man!
Celebrating Lucy M.'s Amazing Achievement!
We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on Lucy M., the remarkable Border Collie mix, for her outstanding performance at the Emerald Dog Obedience Club Rally Trial in Eugene. This was Lucy’s debut in the dog show arena, and she impressively secured 2nd place in the Rally Novice A class! Her dedication and skill were evident as she navigated the course with grace and precision. Lucy is proudly shown here with her well-deserved ribbon and her supportive mom, Katie M. Congratulations to Lucy on this fantastic accomplishment—what a great start to her competitive journey!

Expert Training Tip: Achieving Calm Leash Walks
Working with a dog who pulls or gets overly excited on walks? Stacey has some fantastic tips to help! Bring your dog’s favorite treats on your walk and use them to reward calm behavior. Offer a treat whenever your dog looks at you or checks in during the walk. If they tend to become fixated on distractions like other dogs, strangers, or vehicles, gently guide them off to the side before they spot them, and toss a few treats in the grass. This not only distracts them from the stimulus but also encourages calming sniffing—a natural, soothing behavior for dogs that can lower their heart rate and enhance focus. With this approach, you’ll foster a more relaxed and enjoyable walking experience for both you and your dog.
Have additional questions about leash training? Our Canine Academy is here to help! Complete the intake form, and we will reach out to assist you with your training needs.
