As we head into fall, we’re thrilled to share the latest happenings at Luckydog! This month, we’re celebrating our September Dog of the Month, welcoming a talented new team member, and gearing up for the launch of our brand-new modern booking platform, Goose. Plus, we’ve got some great tips for keeping your dog mentally stimulated at home and a spotlight on some of the Luckydog's favorite snacks. There’s plenty to explore—let’s dive in!

Meet Our September Dog of the Month: Feeny P.

Feeny P., a spirited German Shepherd mix, has been a treasured part of the Luckydog family since 2021. She’s known for her affectionate nature, always ready to shower her best friends—Duchess H., Penny F., and Arlo N.—with kisses and cuddles. Whether splashing in mud puddles or playing in the hose, Feeny’s zest for life is infectious. When it’s time to relax, she enjoys our luxury lodging with nightly cuddle time and regular soothing baths in the Lucky Spa. Feeny’s adventurous and loving spirit makes her a joy to have around, and we’re delighted to honor her this month!

Welcome Lindsey to the Luckydog Spa Team!

We’re excited to welcome Lindsey to our grooming team! With over 7 years of grooming experience, Lindsey brings a deep passion for enhancing the health and well-being of dogs through grooming. She treats each dog as if they were her own, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable throughout the process. Lindsey’s approach to grooming is focused on making it a positive experience for every dog.

In her free time, you can find Lindsey hiking new trails with her stylish miniature poodle, Bennie, or drawing inspiration from nature for her paintings. We’re proud to have her on board, bringing joy and satisfaction to both dogs and their owners.

It’s Almost Time: Our New Modern Booking Platform is Launching Soon!

We’re thrilled to announce that Luckydog will be transitioning to Goose on October 15, 2024! This new booking platform is designed to be more user-friendly, visually appealing, and makes it easier to explore our fun-filled services and seasonal offerings.

Rest assured, all existing reservations will automatically transfer to Goose—there’s no need to worry about your dog’s lodging, daycare, or grooming appointments. Keep an eye out for an upcoming announcement with instructions for a smooth transition, which may include resetting account passwords, re-uploading payment information, etc.. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out at bark@luckydogcare.com.

Enrichment Ideas for Mental Stimulation at Home

Mental stimulation is a key part of keeping your dog happy and healthy, especially if they need some extra engagement at home. Here are a few fun activities to try:

Frozen Treats in Feeding Toys: Fill a feeding toy with peanut butter, yogurt, or a treat of your choice. Freeze it and let your dog work at getting the food out. The freezing adds an extra layer of challenge and keeps them engaged for longer.

Towel Puzzle: Roll up some treats inside a towel and let your dog figure out how to unroll it to get the goodies. For an extra challenge, tie the towel into a knot, or dampen the towel and freeze it ahead of time.

Muffin Tin Game: Place treats in a muffin tin, cover some of the holes with tennis balls, and let your dog find the treats by removing the balls. Alternatively, place the treats on a flat surface and cover them with lightweight cups, encouraging them to tip over the cups to get to the treat inside.

Toy Rotation: Hide a few of your dog’s favorite toys and rotate them every few days. This keeps the toys "fresh" and engaging, like a new toy every time they come out!

These activities are simple to set up and offer rewarding ways to keep your dog’s mind stimulated, no matter their age or experience!
